Once upon a time, in the years before my first release in 2010, I had a lot of fun learning production skills and trying figure out the art of songcraft. A cynic might say I then proceded to throw most of it out the window.
On listening back to over thirty of these recordings it becomes clear the passage of time allows for a much clearer objective response. Annoyingly, it was obvious that some of my favourites from this period would never see the light of day due to a bad mix, one glaring mistake or simply just poor judgement with the arrangement.
I eventually narrowed the selection down to the eleven tracks we have here. Of course I still wanted to remix or re-record certain passages but as the original sessions have been long since deleted we just have to accept them as they are. I do wonder why, for example, I delivered the vocal on Upon-Sea in a semi-whisper.
It's Indie, it's home produced and I kind of like the WTF attitude that prevails. I've tried to maintain that sense of adventure over the years and will continue to do so on any forthcoming releases, more of which later.
